Title: Cartoons Post by: Sabrina Peyton on April 04, 2006, 06:44:39 AM I can't be the only one here who loves cartoons, I know for a fact James shares my love of Invader Zim.
Russell H put Chip & Dales Rescue Rangers theme song along with Duck Tales on a cd for Mark and I. (which I loved hearing but where the heck was my Darkwing Duck!) I was a disney afternoon kid for years, darkwing, duck tales, goof troop, gummy bears and chip & dale. Invader Zim was discovered a year or so ago. Voltron (the giant robot cats version) and thundercats were faves of mine as a kid, then I watched Thundercats as an adult... I'm not sure how I watched it as a kid. I own 2 volumes of Tom & Jerry on dvd as well. Title: Re: Cartoons Post by: Russell H on April 04, 2006, 09:21:01 AM I never got into Darkwing Duck, I'm afraid.
Have we ever discussed Ivor The Engine? Title: Re: Cartoons Post by: Sabrina Peyton on April 04, 2006, 09:22:27 AM How could you not get into darkwing duck, big words, bigger gadgets and a fashionable outfit!
who? Title: Re: Cartoons Post by: James Dodsworth on April 04, 2006, 09:34:37 AM Ivor the Engine was genius.
Other favourites are the obvious Tex Avery cartoons, Ren and Stimpy, Monkey Dust (what? It's animated), original Transformers, Justice League Unlimited, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors. I could go on. Title: Re: Cartoons Post by: Russell H on April 04, 2006, 09:41:03 AM Quote from: Sabrina Peyton on April 04, 2006, 09:22:27 AM How could you not get into darkwing duck, big words, bigger gadgets and a fashionable outfit! who? I was always more of a Duck Tales fan. Ivor The Engine was a cartoon about a steam train in a tiny village in Wales. Unlike Thomas the Tank Engine, Ivor didn't have a face or a voice, just a funnel that parped, and when he went along the rails he went "pssssh-de-kuffff". He was also first tenor for the local choir. The cartoons themselves were fairly slow and gentle - but they had a unique charm. Title: Re: Cartoons Post by: Sabrina Peyton on April 04, 2006, 09:43:18 AM but they a crossover character.
Launchpad Mcquack.... Title: Re: Cartoons Post by: Russell H on April 04, 2006, 11:15:49 AM You mean Darkwing Duck STOLE him!

I used to watch Gem. Had the dolls and everything. They were gigantic though.. well in comparision to she-ra. Which brings up the fact I still like He-Man and She-Ra cartoons.... Title: Re: Cartoons Post by: Mark Peyton on April 05, 2006, 03:01:22 AM Just no.

I can remeber cutting all the pink hair off my sisters on after she broke one of my M.a.s.k toys. The He-man she-ra Crossover was a movie wasn't it. BraveStarr I've just watched an episode of this today. It was on when my Newpew was getting ready for school. Man it is very unPC. ;D Just don't make em like that any more. Title: Re: Cartoons Post by: Sabrina Peyton on April 12, 2006, 01:58:22 AM I always used a permanent marker on my action figures hair...
so they ended up being goths.... and tattoos were fun as well. I still have about 4 dvds of Trigun to watch, and Batman animated series 2 I think.. Title: Re: Cartoons Post by: Mark Peyton on April 12, 2006, 02:06:15 AM And the complete Roughnecks.
Title: Re: Cartoons Post by: Matt Kamen on April 13, 2006, 06:30:08 AM It's probably easier if I just list "Everything!". I have a starling propensity for remembering 80s and 90s cartoons, even if I didn't watch them regularly. I still wish Dungeons and Dragons had gotten its second season, or that the Straczynski-penned Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors movie had been made. I know most of these shows were glorified toy adverts but I still love them. Some of them though - like the original Transformers cartoon or Defenders of the Earth have not aged well.

Just start watching the Roughnecks recently enjoying the Cynical side of the show. Plus it looks Damn Pretty. Nothing to do with the fact that I'm playing the Starship troopers Wargame. Title: Re: Cartoons Post by: Dustin Chadwell on April 28, 2006, 01:49:23 PM Oh man, Darkwing Duck. I loved that show. There's a season set coming out in August over here. I'm totally buying that.

Title: Re: Cartoons Post by: Youri Zoutman on June 11, 2006, 02:30:15 AM I live on cartoons and scifi.
Thundercats, Transformers, Ninja Turtles, M.A.S.K. Well, most of those don't air anymore... Right now i watch Danny Phantom, Fairly Odd Parents and most of all [Adult Swim] Title: Re: Cartoons Post by: Alasdair on September 07, 2006, 03:32:54 AM Big Tex Avery fan, invevitably ('Hello, my name is Wile E. Coyote, geeeeeenius'). Ren and Stimpy did horrid things to my brain as did the utterly, utterly splendid TICK which they did HUGE amounts of, as I found out when I received nineteen discs of the bloody thing a little while back. THUNDERCATS I was mildly fond of but I was more of a car/splodey kid. POLE POSITION always got a welcome in our house as did MASK and the utterly, UTTERLY wonderful CENTURIONS. The only cartoon EVER, where the main characters utterly crap out only for a dog with a missile launcher to save the day.
