Title: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: Sabrina Peyton on April 21, 2006, 06:07:09 AM Mostly thanks to Hordes by Privateer press.
the bastards. Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: James Dodsworth on April 21, 2006, 07:50:41 AM This sentence makes no sense to me.
Is it pirate related? Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: Sabrina Peyton on April 21, 2006, 07:59:57 AM as well it shouldn't.
Not pirates (though there are some in their other minatures). Hordes = Minature game just released www.privateerpress.com Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: Casey Cosker on April 21, 2006, 08:03:32 AM I think my record is somewhere around $50 in one go, but I haven't done that in at least a year. My big weeks are around $30, and those are very rare.
Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: Sabrina Peyton on April 21, 2006, 08:37:40 AM Without digging for receipts
3 boxes of metal minatures (4-ish per box) 3 metal single figures 1 hardcover rule book 1 1oz thing of paint 7 comics? (can't remember how many) Loads of stuff though one box of minatures, the three singles and the paint are mine. The rest are Peytons, meaning I am the best wife. Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: James Dodsworth on April 21, 2006, 08:45:49 AM That would make a good badge: "Blame Mr. Peyton!"
Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: Mark Peyton on April 21, 2006, 08:48:36 AM Nextwave in the comics is yours and that book was £10 cheaper when I was the one buying it.
I refuse to accept blame. I just want the title best wife ever and I'll be happy ;) Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: James Dodsworth on April 21, 2006, 09:05:43 AM Ahh, online domestic disputes. Technology is marvellous.
Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: Sabrina Peyton on April 21, 2006, 09:07:44 AM Well considering I'll be spending the next day or so painting the figures ;)
One of mine I'm going to have to use some super super sticky stuff as he's top heavy. stupid werewolve thingies! Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: John Davidson on April 21, 2006, 02:42:29 PM This is the new thing...like MAgic the Gathering but with figures.
Don't do it. Tha bastards will just bring out more and more stuff and unbalance any good bits the game has in order to sell next months killer beast... Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: Mark Peyton on April 22, 2006, 05:23:11 AM Warmachine is designed on the basis that everything is OTT. They have bought huge things out but it has been very well balanced so far.
Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: John Davidson on April 22, 2006, 07:20:39 AM It's like listening to a cocaine addict say his supplier never gives him anything but the good stuff ;-)
Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: Mark Peyton on April 22, 2006, 10:21:06 AM I didn't play my Wood Elf army for 2 editions of Warhammer due to how badly screwed over it was.
Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: John Davidson on April 22, 2006, 11:24:12 AM Ha!
They wrote my Squats out of exstence altogether (But I'm not bitter oh no) Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: mo ali on April 22, 2006, 11:26:42 AM most I ever spent was about £40...because I got Frank Miller's 300...
Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: Mark Peyton on April 22, 2006, 12:00:34 PM Yeah but you can proxy them. I saw a zoats army the other day.
Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: Francis Davis on April 24, 2006, 11:12:03 AM This sounds like my Saturday afternoon. A store near my house was having a going out of business sale and I spent about $190 on a whim. i should've bought more... :o
Then again it wasn't as bad at the $350 week I had in 2001 when I had the deadman archives and the Sin City 10th anniversary book in addition to a very heavy book week. The week after I come back from Heroes con will be interesting to boot. Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: RossS on April 24, 2006, 03:18:32 PM I used to average about 10-15. That went up to 20-25 when i branched out a bit. At the moment with my pull list, together with random new series and stuff i buy in trades i come in between 30-40 a week. :-\
Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: Russell H on April 27, 2006, 03:14:32 AM I think the most I've managed was about $240 when we were in New York.
Although that was split between 3 shops and a table in the street. They wrote my Squats out of exstence altogether (But I'm not bitter oh no) A friend of mine made up an imperial Gaurd army using all Squat minis. They attempted to tell him it wasn't tournament legal at some con in England. But he argued based upon all the models where GW adn the weapons where all correct and accounted for. He did it jsut so kids would ask about the squats to Gw staff. So what 3 sets you buy? Nagle got the wolf folk and I've the trolls on stand by for me. Tis a fun game and Peyton is right about Warmachince everything is OTT and that what makes the game so much fun. Plus its got steam powered robots. Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: Mark Hall on April 28, 2006, 04:42:10 AM He is fun.

Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: adam berry on May 18, 2006, 12:15:45 AM It doesn't matter how many troops you have, no army can defeat the might of the Cryx!
(This statement may be contradicted by the outcome of actual previous games, where we got owned so bad...) Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: Mark Peyton on May 18, 2006, 02:00:48 AM Even with the spewing midgets of doom.
Khador is confident in its might. I only had scratches on the armour of my Jacks in the second game last night. Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: Mark Hall on May 19, 2006, 05:22:58 AM I regularly slaughter Nagles Khador. It's just about workign around the Jacks and hitting the Casters.
Also I've only ever see one Cryx player over here come out with victorys and he tends to use a lot of mercs in his force. Then again I'm thinking we just have bad Cryx players. Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: Mark J on May 28, 2006, 02:59:01 AM I don't know what any of this means. Nagles?
Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: Mark Peyton on May 28, 2006, 04:59:00 AM Nagle is Lorcan Nagle one of our very infrequent contributors and Mark's best friend.
As for Khador and Cryx they are forces in the game - www.privateerpress.com Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: Mark Hall on May 28, 2006, 05:24:29 AM This is a Nagle.
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v649/Markedman11/Hi-five/DSCN1236.jpg) Its very shy and easily startled. Appoarch with caution. Title: Re: So I just spent £160 at comic shops today Post by: Mark Hall on June 08, 2006, 02:46:01 AM Just Dropped €250 on Robots this week.
Have to get them all before Aoife takes all my money.
