Title: Civil War Post by: Casey Cosker on May 03, 2006, 10:33:52 PM We've done an advance review and we're doing a roundtable next month.
What did YOU think of the first issue? I liked it. Title: Re: Civil War Post by: Sabrina Peyton on May 04, 2006, 12:09:03 AM The UK doesn't get it till friday this time, stupid bank holiday and all that.
Title: Re: Civil War Post by: James Dodsworth on May 04, 2006, 02:13:04 AM Are you saying you haven't already read it? ;)
Title: Re: Civil War Post by: Mark Peyton on May 04, 2006, 02:14:28 AM She really hasn't.
It gets better from here on in. My favourite issue is #3 and hopefully you'll all get to see why. Title: Re: Civil War Post by: Russell H on May 06, 2006, 05:39:44 AM It's definitely better than Infinite Crisis #1 - and therefore I'll be back for issue 2.
Title: Re: Civil War Post by: Matt Kamen on May 06, 2006, 06:55:57 AM Attn: Geoff Johns.
This is how you do a 'big event'. That is all. OK, sorry to get all 'internet fanboy' there but after the huge disappointment of Infinite Crisis, with its unfocused narrative, confusing plot, nonsensical events and overabundance of hype, Civil War #1 was a breath of fresh air. Despite Millar 'sploding the New Warriors, one of my favorite teams, I thoroughly enjoyed this issue. The characters spoke with believably dialogue and both sides made compelling arguments. Definately looking forward to the rest of the series. Title: Re: Civil War Post by: Sabrina Peyton on May 08, 2006, 02:40:37 AM Finally read Civil War 1, not bad though no idea who some of the folks are. And a few phrases seemed a bit repetitive. I may keep reading them if I can remember to.
Title: Re: Civil War Post by: John Davidson on May 08, 2006, 12:37:01 PM I enjoyed it. I'm not normally a fan of big event cross-overs but I have faith in Millar and McNiven.
Hopefully I won't need to buy a plethora of other books to get the story. Title: Re: Civil War Post by: Mark Peyton on May 08, 2006, 01:39:10 PM Not that anyone around here has read it, but the mini is readable and understandable on its own.
Title: Re: Civil War Post by: John Davidson on May 08, 2006, 02:11:25 PM good. That's as it should be. Thanks.
Title: Re: Civil War Post by: James Dodsworth on May 08, 2006, 02:12:19 PM Yes, even though no one around here has read it, the mini is all you need. I certainly will not be picking up any other tie-in issues.
ALthough I did get Illumaniti *slaps self on wrist* Title: Re: Civil War Post by: Mark Peyton on May 08, 2006, 02:14:49 PM I bought Illuminati for Maleev.
Title: Re: Civil War Post by: James Dodsworth on May 08, 2006, 02:20:10 PM Did he like it?
[/russell] Title: Re: Civil War Post by: Mark Peyton on May 08, 2006, 02:26:07 PM Go write roundtable comments.
Title: Re: Civil War Post by: James Dodsworth on May 08, 2006, 02:44:20 PM I am, Jen and I just watched the episode.
Just how good was it? :D Title: Re: Civil War Post by: Mark Peyton on May 08, 2006, 03:20:28 PM Absolutely fantastic.
I will fight anyone to interview Moffat. Title: Re: Civil War Post by: stephen wesman on May 09, 2006, 02:29:08 AM looking forward to this, probably picking it up today . . . it's a relief to see positive noise from the advance comments . . .specially after the cluttered hit and miss nature of infinite crisis . . . :P

It's like I don't need to bother showing up sometimes. Title: Re: Civil War Post by: Mach73 on May 10, 2006, 08:47:42 PM Civil war has a very good story line: Should supers register or not? I believe that no one is above the law, but whats to stop some politician from using them or extort them with revealing their I.D"s and threaten family members if they don't obey. It: kind of tricky. I think that supers should be trained and licenced and call upon when their's a dire situation depending on their power level, and not politicise it. :)
Title: Re: Civil War Post by: John Davidson on May 11, 2006, 01:04:08 AM Superhero Registration... Who watches the Watchmen ? Does anyone remember that? Not like our Mark to tap into the past and recraft it. ;)
Title: Re: Civil War Post by: Mark Peyton on June 07, 2006, 10:58:22 AM So the new advance review is up. Obviously there is more in the issue, but it really does just get better from here on in.
Title: Re: Civil War Post by: James Dodsworth on August 08, 2006, 05:24:19 PM What did people think of issue 3?
Apart from Cooper and Rockwell of course? ;) Title: Re: Civil War Post by: Casey Cosker on August 08, 2006, 06:46:11 PM I liked the part where men in spandex started punching each other.
