Hello, just stopping by to say thanks for the positive words on PHONOGRAM. I believe it's our first review, so it was nice to get a good one. :)

There was a small struggle to see which of us got to review it.  Francis won due to his location. The England based staff await it with bated breath.

Jamie, I really loved the book and I cannot wait for it to hit the streets.

I have some ideas. Unfortunately doing all the work (pencil, ink, toning and lettering) on a monthly book doesn't leave me as much time as I want. :)

London Town. Ex- of Malvern, Nottingham and Birmingham. I've moved around a bit. Spent my childhood in Malvern, though.

I'm from Hull, moved to London in 2001, living in Highgate, North London at the moment.

I know Nottingham pretty well, Birmingham a bit.

I'm down south, near Surbiton. Right on the outskirts. :)

The book looks all the better for it (At least of what you have up on the Phonogram blog).

I'm thinking of trying to get them sorted in time for the December con in the UK. FINGERS CROSSED.

Nah, I can't remember how to get to the end of my street, nevermind doing the Knowledge  :D

Just wanted to say that it is impossible to get Phonogram in Central London, it has sold out in 4 shops, and I tried my Comic Shop in Romford on top of that. All the shops are getting more in.

It seems none of them knew what to order and most just got it in for those regular customers who asked for it, now they just have people walking in and asking for it. I expect a lot more copies to be available this week. I hope.

James - if you still have problems let me know and I can see if Leeds have any left.

Thanks Mark, I should be able to get it eventually. It was actually Michael and I looking for it, Tony Lee had pimped it to Michael to get, so we spent most of Saturday trying to find copies.

Good thing I put it on my pull list...

I will raise hell if they forgot it. My lCS has a nasty habit of forgetting issues (Which I'll put a stop too if I get a job there).

I dunno, you spent months and months hammering home the point that if people don't preorder then shops don't know there's a demand, and still most people wander into the shop a few days after release expecting to be able to get hold of it.

I can't moan too much, I do exactly the same thing. ;)

There's 5 or 600 copies left at Diamond before we sell out the print run.

It's always a problem, people don't know they want it until it's out and it gets recommended or similiar.

I see this difficulty as a good thing for your Jamie, as more people will be trying to get hold of it, and the stores will have a better idea of how many to order in for later issues.

Supply/Demand - you gotta love it.

In a way it's good - and it's good press to say "Hey, it sold out!"

The main problem is the system currently set up for comics ordering - shops have to order the first three issues before the first one is even out.

Finally managed to get a copy in Forbidden planet, grabbed the last 2 copies. Both first prints, I hear it's gone to a second print already?
