I had been looking forward to the Da Vinci Code film, but I detest Tom Hanks.

Xmen should be fun, being dragged to Superman Returns.

Lets not forget Pirates of the Caribbean!

My bile for the Da Vinci code knows no bounds, I refuse to see it.

The usual suspects otherwise:

X-Men 3 - could be pants, hopefully not.
Superman Returns - pleasebegoodpleasebegoodpleasebegood
Pirates 2 - looking forward to this.

Are there any other big releases?

Slither was the last movie I was waiting on. It was good and I was happy.
Might go see the Da Vinci code with Aoife just so I can shout every so often about it being a pack of lies and an afront to the church. Aoife might see the funny side.

Or she might smack you.

The book was fun in that I can read it in two hours sort of fun but tom hanks....

Superman because its, well, Superman...

The things that look like greatness for me are Art School Confidential and Snakes on a Plane, Nacho Libre or Clerks 2.

I'll see X Men, Pirates of the Carribean, and Da Vinci Code and Superman. The first three against my will. The last one becuase I cannot stop myself.

Also, because my girl is defective in the braibn I will see GOAL: The Dream Begins because she lusts after the main star. I know it will be rubbish because it's directed by the guy who did Stallone's Judge Dredd. Angry

My verdicts on the blockbusters:

The Promise - This could either be a generic, pointlessly aesthetic Asian big action movie like House of Flying Daggers. Or it could be a masterpiece, like Hero.

The Da Vinci Code - I'll probably see this for lack of something better to do, but, while the cast and crew are rock solid, the source material, I think, is crap.
X3 - Yes, I'm looking forward to this. I'm one of the few people with faith in Brett Ratner.

A Praire Home Companion - I've been a fan of Garriosn Keilor's radio show for a while, now. Since he's got a writing credit, this should be good.

Superman Returns - This looks good.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - I like that they're featuring more legends and mythology, but I'm not sure - was Davey Jones a squid-man? At any rate, this has the same cast and crew as the first one, so I can't see how it could go wrong.

A Scanner Darkly - This movie looks worth seeing, if only worth Downey Jr's performance and the visual aspects. Keanu Reeves never bodes well for a film, but I've seen plenty of films succeed despite him that I'll check this one out.

Lady in the Water - Since The Village, I've been skeptical of M. Night. I'll wait for reviews before I dip my toes into this movie.

My Super Ex-Girlfriend - Yes, it looks stupid. But it looks like it'll be fun-stupid.

Miami Vice - Michael Mann. Colin Farrell. Jaime Foxx. Need I say more?

Fearless - The fight scenes from this movie were great. This looks better than The Promise, at least. And I have yet to see a Jet Li film I didn't enjoy to some degree.

Snakes on a Plane - See title.

...and that's about it. I'll be seeing most, if not all of these.

I have no interest in The DaVinci Code. Why is is called The DaVinci Code anyway? DaVinci just means "Of Vinci". The artist was just called Leonardo.

Facts aside, he is popularly known as Leonardo Da Vinci, and if nothing else, the book is populist...

Supes, X3 and Snakes . . .can't think of anything else right now . . .

aha . . .and a scanner darkly as mentioned by casey above, looks pretty damn fine . . . [snark]plus reeves is being animated over his usually gormless face, so they may animate some acting ability into there[/snark] . . . and Thumbsucker didn't suffer having him prominantly in the cast IMHO. trailer is at http://www.apple.com/trailers/warner_independent_pictures/ascannerdarkly/ many points for them usuing M83 in the trailer, hope they get used in the film as well

I agree. They should do sequels for all the Ninja Turtles.

I'd go and see The Raphael Code.
