Cartoons
« on: April 04, 2006, 06:44:39 AM »

I can't be the only one here who loves cartoons, I know for a fact James shares my love of Invader Zim.

Russell H put Chip & Dales Rescue Rangers theme song along with Duck Tales on a cd for Mark and I. (which I loved hearing but where the heck was my Darkwing Duck!)

I was a disney afternoon kid for years, darkwing, duck tales, goof troop, gummy bears and chip & dale.

Invader Zim was discovered a year or so ago.

Voltron (the giant robot cats version) and thundercats were faves of mine as a kid, then I watched Thundercats as an adult...  I'm not sure how I watched it as a kid.

I own 2 volumes of Tom & Jerry on dvd as well.

I never got into Darkwing Duck, I'm afraid.

Have we ever discussed Ivor The Engine?

Ivor the Engine was genius.

Other favourites are the obvious Tex Avery cartoons, Ren and Stimpy, Monkey Dust (what? It's animated), original Transformers, Justice League Unlimited, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors. I could go on.

who?

I was always more of a Duck Tales fan.

Ivor The Engine was a cartoon about a steam train in a tiny village in Wales. Unlike Thomas the Tank Engine, Ivor didn't have a face or a voice, just a funnel that parped, and when he went along the rails he went "pssssh-de-kuffff". He was also first tenor for the local choir.

The cartoons themselves were fairly slow and gentle - but they had a unique charm.

god...

I used to watch Gem. Had the dolls and everything. They were gigantic though.. well in comparision to she-ra.

Which brings up the fact I still like He-Man and She-Ra cartoons....
